Little Arrows Farm Camp is OPEN

With these warm Spring days, I am looking forward to SUMMER. Last year was our first Little Arrows Farm Camp in 2022 (you can find the blog here), and now we are so excited to be opening up a bigger and better farm camp for this Summer!

Little Arrows Farm Camp is for children aged 3-9 who enjoy spending time outdoors, learning and playing in nature, and maybe enjoy gardening. No farm experience is required. We follow a curriculum which I have created (can be found here). This curriculum is for children aged 2-6 based on educational standards; incorporating Science, Math, English Language Arts, Social Studies, Gross Motor, Health Education, and Social Emotional Skills based on Georgia Standards. This curriculum is perfect year round, in all climates. The lessons have three themes; introduction to a garden, how to take care of a garden, and how a garden takes care of us.

This year we will be having FOUR different camps that will be broken down by age (this may change, depending on sign ups). Our camps are June 12-15th (3-6 year olds), June 19th- 22nd (7-9 year olds), July 10th-13th (3-6 year olds), and July 17th-20th (7-9 year olds). All camps are Monday thru Thursday, 9-12pm. Each camp is $120 dollars, siblings receive a discount at a price of $100 (siblings can also come to the same camp if wanted). Our camps are all held at our farm in Clarkesville. To register, fill out this form.

Wondering the benefits of farm camp? Besides freedom to explore, sunshine, movement, there are numerous benefits to having your child get outside! You can read more here, along with a few book suggestions about learning about a garden for your child.

A typical day usually includes farm chores, free play, a snack from home (or pick some blueberries for a snack!), a garden lesson, and working in the garden. From feeding the chickens, picking home grown produce, to weeding the greenhouse - there is plenty opportunities to get to work outside!

My husband and I will be leading all camps. I am a former special education and pre school teacher with over 14 years of experience working with children. I have my Bachelor's and Master's in Special Education. My husband has his degree in Agricultural Business and runs our farm. He also does Farm Tours and enjoys spending his time teaching others about how to start their own garden in their backyard by using sustainable practices.
