A Look Back: What Parents Loved About Last Year’s Farm Camp

Every summer, Arrows Farm comes alive with the energy of young campers eager to dig into the world of farming, food, and fun. Our Farm Camp is more than just a summer activity—it’s an opportunity for kids to connect with nature, learn about growing food, and create lifelong memories.

Last year, families raved about their children’s experiences at camp, from planting seeds to splashing through water day. Here’s a look at what made Arrows Farm Camp such a special and unforgettable experience!

On Learning: From Soil to Harvest

One of the highlights of Farm Camp is that kids get to become little farmers for the week. They’re not just learning about where their food comes from—they’re actively growing it!

Creating Their Own Mini Greenhouses

Each camper had the chance to plant their own seeds and build a mini greenhouse to take home. Using recycled materials, they learned how to create the perfect environment for plants to thrive. Watching their seedlings sprout after camp was an exciting reminder of their farm experience!

Keeping a Garden Journal

Every child received a garden journal to document their experiences. They sketched plants, wrote down what they learned each day, and even recorded their favorite farm-fresh foods. It was a great way to help them reflect on their journey and take home knowledge they could use in their own gardens.

Digging in the Dirt & Pulling Weeds

Farming isn’t just about planting—it’s about caring for the soil! Campers learned how to pull weeds to help their plants grow strong. Getting their hands dirty and working together gave them a sense of responsibility and pride in their work.

Tasting Farm-Fresh Fruits & Veggies

What better way to learn about healthy eating than by harvesting and tasting fresh produce straight from the farm? Campers sampled juicy tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, and even sweet farm-fresh blueberries.

Blending Up Garden-Fresh Smoothies

One of the kids’ favorite activities was making garden smoothies! They picked their own ingredients—like kale, berries, and carrots—then blended them into a delicious and nutritious treat. Parents loved that their kids were excited to try new, healthy foods!

Outdoor Fun & Farm Adventures

In addition to gardening, Farm Camp was filled with exciting activities that encouraged kids to explore, play, and enjoy the great outdoors.

Farm Tours & Exploring the Fields

Each morning, campers took a farm tour to see what was growing and learn about different crops. They got to touch, smell, and even taste some of the plants while discovering how farmers care for them throughout the season.

Water Day!

A summer favorite—water day was all about cooling off and having fun! From splash games to a waterslide, campers got to enjoy a refreshing break after working hard in the garden.

Creative Nature Crafts

Throughout the week, campers made fun nature-inspired crafts like leaf prints, painted rock markers for the garden, or nature paint.
